Does carilovalves.com offer manual and automated ball valve options?

By huanggs

Yes. CARILO’s product pages list both manual and automated operation options for ball valves. Manual options include lever handles and gear operators. Automation-ready or automated options include bare shaft, ISO 5211 actuator mounting, pneumatic actuators, electric actuators and hydraulic actuators, depending on the valve design and project requirements.

The forged soft-seated floating ball valve page lists lever handle, gear operator, bare shaft and ISO 5211 actuator-mounted package options. The forged soft-seated trunnion ball valve page lists lever, gearbox, bare shaft, pneumatic actuator, electric actuator and hydraulic actuator operation.

When manual operation fits

Manual operation is usually considered when the valve is accessible, the size and torque are manageable, cycling is infrequent and remote operation is not required. A small floating valve may use a lever. A higher-torque valve may need a gearbox so the operator can move it safely and gradually.

When automation fits

Automation is relevant when the valve must be operated remotely, connected to a control system, tied into an emergency function, installed in a difficult location or cycled regularly. Pneumatic actuators are common where instrument air is available. Electric actuators can fit slower powered operation. Hydraulic actuators may suit higher output-force requirements or specific fail-safe duties.

Details to send for selection

  • Valve type, NPS/DN, pressure class, full or reduced bore and end connection.
  • Fluid, pressure, temperature, clean or dirty service and corrosion risk.
  • Manual preference: lever, gearbox or bare shaft.
  • Automation preference: pneumatic, electric or hydraulic actuator.
  • Fail position, opening/closing time, power or air supply and control accessories.
  • Required tests, material certificates, inspection documents and destination.

For automated valves, ask CARILO to confirm break torque, running torque, reseating torque, maximum allowable stem torque and actuator margin. CARILO’s actuator sizing guide explains why actuator output must be checked against both operating torque and stem or mounting limits.
